Key findings
- The 6 pc combo costs less than 10 classic wings on their own in 7 of 16 cities (New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, Oklahoma City). In the other 9, the 10 pc order is the lower price on the menu.
- Pricing fries, ranch and a 20 oz drink separately and subtracting them, the combo's wings cost $0.65 to $1.37 each (median $0.98). A 10 pc classic order costs $1.26 to $1.60 per wing (median $1.45).
- The combo is the better value per wing in 15 of 16 cities. The 10 pc order wins in Denver.
- Moving from 10 to 30 classic wings lowers the price per wing by a median 6.2% (range 3.1% to 10.5%), which is $1.18 to $4.98 saved across the 30 wings.
- Boneless is cheaper than classic at 10 pieces by $1.10 to $2.50 depending on the city (median $1.95).
Every figure on this page is calculated from our own survey of 16 Wingstop stores, taken on October 14, 2026. The raw prices are in our prices by city data.
How we calculated the combo value
A combo bundles wings with sides, so its sticker price cannot be compared with a wings-only order directly. To isolate what you pay for the wings, we price the sides separately and take them out.
- Sides total = regular seasoned fries + regular ranch dip + 20 oz fountain drink, each at the same store's menu price.
- Combo wing value = (6 pc combo price − sides total) ÷ 6. This is what each combo wing costs once the sides are paid for at menu price.
- 10 pc per wing = 10 pc classic price ÷ 10.
- Better deal = whichever of the two per-wing figures is lower, compared to the cent.
Worked example, Las Vegas. Las Vegas sits in the middle of the 16 cities when ranked by combo wing value. The 6 pc combo is $14.99. Fries, ranch and a drink bought separately come to $9.17. That leaves $5.82 for six wings, or $0.97 each. Ten classic wings cost $12.89, or $1.29 each. The combo is the better deal there.
One caveat on the method: the combo comes with "regular fries or veggie sticks" and one dip, and we priced the fries and a regular ranch as the stand-ins. Treat the combo wing value as a comparison tool, not a price you will see on a menu.

Which order should you choose?
These rules come straight from the numbers above. They describe our 16 stores, so check your own menu before you rely on them.
- You want the fries and a drink anyway: the combo was the better deal per wing in 15 of 16 cities. Order the wings separately in Denver, where the 10 pc rate was lower.
- You only want wings: the combo is the wrong tool. It was cheaper than 10 classic wings in only 7 cities, and you would be paying for sides you do not want.
- You are feeding a group: 30 wings lower the per-wing price by a median 6.2%, and switching to boneless takes a median $1.95 off every 10. Combine both for the lowest price per wing.
- You want the most wings per dollar, ignoring sides: in the lowest-priced city for 30 classic, Denver, the 30 pc order works out to $1.19 a wing, the lowest 30 pc rate in the survey.
Limitations
- One store per city, taken from the official store finder. It is a sample, not a city average, and other stores in the same city may charge differently.
- Carryout menu prices from wingstop.com. Delivery apps can show higher prices and add fees.
- Prices are before tax, fees and tip.
- All 16 stores were checked on October 14, 2026. Prices change, and limited-time offers or app deals are not included.
- The combo wing value depends on pricing the sides as fries, regular ranch and a 20 oz drink. If you would have chosen veggie sticks or a different dip, your result will differ.
