| 3 | Atomic | 90 | 10 | 220 | Hottest |
| 4 | Plain | 90 | 10 | 30 | No heat |
| 5 | Hickory Smoked BBQ | 100 | 10 | 150 | Low |
| 6 | Hawaiian | 100 | 10 | 85 | No heat |
| 7 | Spicy Korean Q | 100 | 10 | 135 | Medium |

| 9 | Louisiana Rub | 110 | 10 | 140 | Medium |
| 10 | Lemon Pepper | 120 | 10 | 210 | Very low |
| 11 | Garlic Parmesan | 120 | 10 | 75 | No heat |
| 12 | Hot Honey Rub | 120 | 10 | 160 | Not listed on Wingstop's heat order |
| 13 | Mild | 120 | 10 | 160 | Low |

What the difference means for an order
The spread between Cajun and Mild is 30 calories per wing. Across 10 wings that is 300 calories, or roughly a small side order of fries.
For most people the order size, the fries and the dips change a meal's calories far more than the flavor does.
Boneless wings by flavor
| Flavor | Calories per piece | Protein (g) | Sodium (mg) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cajun | 80 | 4 | 450 |
| Original Hot | 80 | 4 | 390 |
| Plain | 80 | 4 | 230 |
| Hickory Smoked BBQ | 90 | 5 | 330 |
| Hawaiian | 90 | 4 | 270 |
| Spicy Korean Q | 90 | 5 | 320 |
| Mango Habanero | 90 | 4 | 270 |
| Atomic | 90 | 4 | 380 |
| Louisiana Rub | 100 | 4 | 260 |
| Lemon Pepper | 110 | 4 | 290 |
| Garlic Parmesan | 110 | 4 | 260 |
| Hot Honey Rub | 110 | 4 | 360 |
| Mild | 110 | 4 | 330 |
Boneless pieces are smaller and breaded, so they have fewer calories and less protein per piece than classic wings.
Why small calorie gaps rarely matter
The calorie difference between flavors is small per wing, so portion size and sides matter far more than flavor for your total. Choose the flavor you will enjoy and control the rest of the order.
Lowest-calorie wings by flavor
Per piece, calories run from 90 to 120 for a classic wing and 80 to 110 for a boneless piece, depending on flavor. Choosing the lighter flavor is the single biggest lever: ten classic Lemon Pepper wings are 1,200 calories, ten Original Hot are 900.
| Flavor | Classic wing | Boneless piece | Tender |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cajun | 90 | 80 | 150 |
| Original Hot | 90 | 80 | 140 |
| Atomic | 90 | 90 | 150 |
| Plain | 90 | 80 | 140 |
| Hickory Smoked BBQ | 100 | 90 | 170 |
| Hawaiian | 100 | 90 | 160 |
| Spicy Korean Q | 100 | 90 | 170 |
| Mango Habanero | 100 | 90 | 170 |
| Louisiana Rub | 110 | 100 | 180 |
| Lemon Pepper | 120 | 110 | 200 |
| Garlic Parmesan | 120 | 110 | 210 |
| Hot Honey Rub | 120 | 110 | 220 |
| Mild | 120 | 110 | 200 |
The lightest picks are the same few flavors in every format: Original Hot and Plain are the lowest for tenders (140), and Cajun, Original Hot and Plain for boneless (80). Garlic Parmesan, Hot Honey Rub, Lemon Pepper and Mild are the highest-calorie classic flavors at 120 calories per wing.
Sample lighter orders
Counted from Wingstop's published values. Your store's portions and any extras will move the total.
| Order | Calories (approx.) |
|---|---|
| 6 classic Original Hot wings + celery sticks + Diet Coke | 550 |
| 10 classic Atomic wings | 900 |
| 10 boneless Original Hot wings | 800 |
| 6 boneless Cajun wings + regular Seasoned Fries | 980 |
| 5 tenders in Original Hot + ranch dip | 1020 |
Sides, dips and drinks that add the most
Dips are where lighter orders go wrong. A ranch cup is 320 calories and bleu cheese is 330, more than three classic wings. Cheese sauce is only 120. A regular Seasoned Fries is 500 calories, and a large Louisiana Voodoo Fries is 1180.
For a light side, choose Veggie Sticks (10 calories for 5 celery sticks, 25 for 5 carrot sticks). For a drink, Diet Coke and unsweetened tea are 0 calories; a 20 oz Coke is 250.
Higher-calorie items to watch
- Chicken sandwich: 610 to 930 calories depending on flavor. Plain is the lowest, Hot Honey Rub the highest.
- Tenders: 140 to 220 calories each, roughly twice a classic wing.
- Large fries: 900 (Seasoned) to 1180 (Louisiana Voodoo) calories.
- Brownie: 430 calories.

A simple low-calorie strategy
Three levers matter most: the format (classic wings are lower in calories per piece than breaded options), the flavor, and what you add. Sides, dips and drinks often add more than the wings themselves.
Choose a no-sugar drink and share fries rather than ordering a full portion each. Our meals-under-1000-calories guide has worked examples.
Five meal ideas with totals
Totals use Cajun (the lowest-calorie classic flavor) unless noted. Wingstop's calories per item are published; the meal totals are our own addition.
| Meal | Calories |
|---|---|
| 8 classic Cajun wings + celery sticks | 730 |
| 10 classic Cajun wings, no sides | 900 |
| 6 classic Cajun wings + half a regular order of seasoned fries (shared) | 790 |
| 6 classic Cajun wings + celery sticks + one ranch | 870 |
| 10 boneless Cajun + celery sticks | 810 |
Pick flavors from our calorie ranking if you want to shave a few more calories.
Where the calories hide
- A single ranch dip is 320 calories, about as much as 3 wings. Use half, or skip it.
- Regular seasoned fries are 500 calories. Sharing one order between two people halves that.
- Veggie sticks add only 10 calories for celery. They are a good filler.
- Drinks count too. A regular soda can add 200 or more calories; water adds none.
Protein by format
| Format | Protein (g) | Calories | Protein per 100 calories (g) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic wing | 10 | 90 to 120 | 8.3 to 11.1 |
| Boneless piece | 4 to 5 | 80 to 110 | 3.6 to 5.6 |
| Tender | 10 | 140 to 220 | 4.5 to 7.1 |
| Chicken sandwich | 32 to 34 | 610 to 930 | 3.5 to 5.2 |
Classic bone-in wings are the efficient choice: the same 10 g of protein as a tender at well under half the calories. Boneless wings are breaded, so you eat more breading and less chicken per piece, and protein per calorie is much lower.
Protein in common orders
| Order | Protein (g) | Calories |
|---|---|---|
| 6 classic wings | 60 | 540 |
| 10 classic wings | 100 | 900 |
| 10 boneless wings | 40 | 900 |
| 5 tenders | 50 | 750 |
| 1 chicken sandwich | 33 | 650 |
Values use the Atomic flavor, one of the lightest. Richer flavors such as Lemon Pepper or Garlic Parmesan add calories but not protein.
How to get the most protein
- Order classic (bone-in) wings, not boneless.
- Pick a lighter flavor: Atomic, Cajun, Original Hot or Plain are 90 calories per wing.
- Skip sugary dips (honey mustard is 18 g sugar) and use ranch or plain veggie sticks.
- If you want one big item, the sandwich has 32 to 34 g of protein but 610 to 930 calories.
Classic wings also have bone weight, so the cooked weight is lower than the grams on the box suggest. Wingstop's guide lists serving weights for every item.
Getting protein without extra calories
Classic wings give the most protein per calorie in our comparison. Pair them with veggie sticks instead of fries, and choose a zero-calorie drink to keep the total in check.
If you want more volume, add tenders, which are higher in protein per piece than a single wing but also higher in carbs.
Sodium by format
| Format | Lowest | Highest |
|---|---|---|
| Classic wing | Plain: 30 | Cajun: 310 |
| Boneless piece | Plain: 230 | Cajun: 450 |
| Tender | Plain: 470 | Cajun: 1020 |
| Chicken sandwich | Plain: 1720 | Cajun: 3940 |
Breading is the main driver. Boneless wings and tenders carry several times the sodium of a classic wing in the same flavor, and the sandwich adds a bun, pickles and sauce on top.
Sides and dips
| Item | Serving | Sodium (mg) |
|---|---|---|
| Seasoned fries regular | Regular, 10 oz (191 g) | 620 |
| Seasoned fries large | Large, 18 oz (346 g) | 1,060 |
| Cheese fries large | Large, 18 oz (442 g) | 1,910 |
| Buffalo ranch fries large | Large, 18 oz (434 g) | 2,710 |
| Louisiana voodoo fries large | Large, 18 oz (483 g) | 1,870 |
| Fried corn regular | Regular, 5 pieces (154 g) | 300 |
| Ranch dip | 3.25 oz cup (85 g) | 870 |
| Blue cheese dip | 3.25 oz cup (86 g) | 570 |
| Cheddar cheese sauce dip | 3.25 oz cup (96 g) | 850 |
| Honey mustard dip | 3.25 oz cup (93 g) | 660 |
Buffalo Ranch Fries are the saltiest side, because they are coated in Original Hot sauce and a ranch drizzle. Seasoned Fries are the lightest of the fries.
How to order lower-sodium
- Choose classic wings over boneless or tenders.
- Pick Plain (30 mg), Hawaiian (85 mg) or Garlic Parmesan (75 mg) classic wings for the lowest sodium of any flavor.
- Skip Cajun and Atomic on breaded items, which are the saltiest.
- Use veggie sticks (45 mg) in place of fries.
- Choose a regular, not large, side.
This is general information, not medical advice. If you limit sodium for a health reason, follow your doctor's guidance.
Putting sodium in context
The FDA Daily Value for sodium is 2,300 mg. A single large order of wings with fries and a dip can use a big share of that, so it helps to plan the rest of your day around it.
Dry rubs and sauces often add most of the sodium. Lighter flavors and skipping the extra dip lower the total.
Crispy tenders by flavor
Figures are per tender, as published by Wingstop. Tenders are breaded, so wheat is listed as an allergen in every flavor.
| Flavor | Calories | Protein (g) | Sodium (mg) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lemon Pepper | 200 | 10 | 620 |
| Garlic Parmesan | 210 | 10 | 550 |
| Hot Honey Rub | 220 | 10 | 780 |
| Louisiana Rub | 180 | 10 | 540 |
| Cajun | 150 | 10 | 1020 |
| Original Hot | 140 | 10 | 870 |
| Mild | 200 | 10 | 730 |
| Hickory Smoked BBQ | 170 | 10 | 710 |
| Hawaiian | 160 | 10 | 580 |
| Spicy Korean Q | 170 | 10 | 680 |
| Mango Habanero | 170 | 10 | 570 |
| Atomic | 150 | 10 | 850 |
| Plain | 140 | 10 | 470 |
Chicken sandwich by flavor
The sandwich is a single serving. Sauced flavors add more calories and sodium than dry rubs.
| Flavor | Calories | Protein (g) | Sodium (mg) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lemon Pepper | 850 | 32 | 2320 |
| Garlic Parmesan | 890 | 34 | 2060 |
| Hot Honey Rub | 930 | 33 | 2970 |
| Louisiana Rub | 790 | 32 | 2020 |
| Cajun | 640 | 33 | 3940 |
| Original Hot | 630 | 33 | 3340 |
| Mild | 870 | 32 | 2750 |
| Hickory Smoked BBQ | 730 | 34 | 2680 |
| Hawaiian | 710 | 33 | 2150 |
| Spicy Korean Q | 720 | 34 | 2570 |
| Mango Habanero | 740 | 32 | 2120 |
| Atomic | 650 | 33 | 3230 |
| Plain | 610 | 32 | 1720 |
Tenders versus wings
Tenders are boneless, easier for kids and good for dipping. Wings have the flavor choices and more fun to share. Tenders are breaded, so they carry carbs and wheat.
Calories and protein per dollar
We divided Wingstop's published calories and protein by the median price of each item in our survey (16 stores, carryout, before tax, checked October 14, 2026). The division is our arithmetic. Where an item's numbers change with the flavor or drink, we show the full range.
| Item | Median price | Calories | Protein (g) | Calories per $1 | Protein per $1 (g) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30 pc classic wings | $40.79 | 2,700 to 3,600 | 300 | 66 to 88 | 7.4 |
| 10 pc classic wings | $14.49 | 900 to 1,200 | 100 | 62 to 83 | 6.9 |
| 10 pc boneless wings | $12.69 | 800 to 1,100 | 40 to 50 | 63 to 87 | 3.2 to 3.9 |
| Regular seasoned fries | $3.54 | 500 | 8 | 141 | 2.3 |
| Ranch dip (regular) | $1.59 | 320 | 1 | 201 | 0.6 |
| 6 pc classic combo | $14.39 | 860 to 1,890 | Wingstop hasn't published this | 60 to 131 | Wingstop hasn't published this |
| 20 oz fountain drink | $2.99 | 0 to 280 | Wingstop hasn't published this | 0 to 94 | Wingstop hasn't published this |
Items not in our price survey are excluded: tenders, the chicken sandwich, the other fries and dips, corn, veggie sticks and the brownie have nutrition numbers but no price here. Calories and protein are from Wingstop Nutritional Guide (PDF, dated April 2025); the 6 pc combo's calorie range is from Wingstop's menu (captured September 21, 2026) and depends on the flavor, side, dip and drink you choose. Wingstop publishes no protein total for a combo and no protein for drinks. The drink range covers every 20 oz fountain drink in the guide, from zero-calorie to full sugar.
- Classic wings give the most protein per dollar. 10 pc classic wings deliver 6.9 g of protein per $1 at the median price of $14.49, and 30 pc classic wings 7.4 g at $40.79. Every classic wing has 10 g of protein whatever the flavor, so the flavor changes the calories and not the protein.
- Boneless wings give you about half as much protein for the money. 10 pc boneless wings come to 3.2 to 3.9 g of protein per $1 at $12.69, against 6.9 g for the classic 10 pc. Calories per dollar are in a similar range (63 to 87 for boneless, 62 to 83 for classic), so the gap is in protein, not in how filling the order is.
- The cheap add-ons are the calorie bargains, and they carry almost no protein. A regular ranch dip is 320 calories at a median $1.59, which is 201 calories per $1 and 0.6 g of protein per $1. Regular fries are 141 calories and 2.3 g of protein per $1 at $3.54. Wingstop doesn't publish protein for drinks, so we can't compare them on protein.
